Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) is a professional kabaddi league in India broadcast in Star Sports that has created quite a hype over the years. Much credit can be given to the striking team of Patna Pirates, who joined the league in 2014. Based in Patna, Bihar, The Patna Pirates Kabaddi team has been one of the most successful PKL teams, winning 3 title trophies in their league journey so far.

The team will be hoping to continue their dominance as they have retained their star Iranian allrounder Mohammedreza Shadloui Chiyaneh and purchased star raider Sachin Tanwar for Rs. 81 lakh. Moreover, with Neeraj Kumar leading and adding to the defence of  the team, Pirates are a strong contender for winning the PKL Season 9.

Patna Pirates History

Pro Kabaddi Patna Pirates team was founded in 2014 with the most success record. They won their 1st title by defeating U Mumba in 2016 January. In the following 2016 July edition, they defeated Jaipur Pink Panthers and won their 2nd title. Their title-winning hattrick included a huge win against Gujarat Fortune Giants in 2017 PKL.

They ranked 4th in the Season 06 of PKL, which happened in 2018. On the other hand, they ranked at the 8th position in season 7 of PKL, which happened in 2019. The last season witnessed their brilliant performance, leading them to become the runner-up for the PKL season 08, 2021.

The kabaddi Patna Pirates team has become the first team ever who has played 100+ matches in the PKL. They have 10 matches scheduled this season. Their first match will be on October 08, 2022 against the Puneri Paltan while their last group match will be on November 04, 2022 against U Mumba.2
