The professional-level Indian Kabaddi League is the Pro Kabaddi League, which was introduced in 2014. Star Sports televises PKL. Talking about the Pro Kabaddi Season, there have been 7 seasons so far. The 8th season (2020) was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2021 season is all set to run from July 20- Oct 19.
2017 and 2018-19 seasons of PKL witnessed the addition of 4 new pro kabaddi teams. Now there are 12 Pro Kabaddi League teams in the Kabaddi League. The format of the kabaddi league changed wherein the PKL teams were divided into 2 divisions called 'zones.' The pro kabaddi league returned to its format in 2019: double round-robin format.
