Luis Alberto Suárez Díaz Nicknamed El Pistolero ('The Gunman'), the one who is well-known for sinking his teeth in the opposition half can bite any team with his striking ability. The 34-year-old Uruguayan international started his journey in the world of football with an Uruguayan club Nacional at the age of 19. He soon became an attraction for the Dutch club Ajax and ended up joining them in 2007. In the time span of 4 years with Ajax, he won an Eredivisie title (league title) and KNVB Cup.
Suarez soon became a well-known face in the eyes of top European clubs and thus Liverpool signed him in 2011. With the Reds Suarez levelled the goalscoring record for a 38-game Premier League season. As he found the net 31 times winning his first European Golden Shoe in 2014.
The Spanish giants FC Barcelona were looking for a striker in 2014. And thus invested €82.3 million to bring Luis Suarez at Camp Nou making him one of the most expensive players in the history of football. The Uruguayan International continued his form with Barcelona and soon won his second European Golden Shoe in 2016.

On 21 January 2021, Suárez scored his first brace for the club, including a last-minute penalty, in a 2–1 win over Eibar. This meant that he had managed to score 10 or more goals in each of his past ten league campaigns. Three days later, he scored yet another goal for Atlético in a 3–1 comeback victory over Valencia. This took his league tally to twelve goals in fifteen fixtures, the joint-most in La Liga. This feat meant that Suárez had now accomplished the best start for a player at a new club in the league, Since Cristiano Ronaldo move to Real Madrid (thirteen goals in fifteen fixtures in 2010). On 31 January 2021, Suárez scored another two goals in a 4–2 victory over Cádiz, also netting his first free-kick goal for the club. He then scored an additional brace on 8 February, in Atlético's 2–2 draw against Celta Vigo.
On 21 March, Suárez headed in the match-winner to score his 500th senior career goal as Atlético edged a 1–0 victory over Alaves.
The Injury Saga
On 7th April 2021, Atletico Madrid issued a club statement confirming that their man in form Luis Suarez has suffered a muscular injury on his left leg. The striker played his last match on 5th of April for the Red and Whites before getting injured in the training.
Since Suarez got injured, Atletico has managed to win only 3 matches out of the 5 they have played without him so far.
According to reports from Spanish citation Marca, Luis Suarez has recently returned to full training and is on the verge to go again where he left from. Atletico Madrid are eager to get their start striker back on the pitch playing for them.

Luis Suarez is on the verge of clinching on his 20th trophy and his first one with Atletico Madrid. However, Barcelona and Real Madrid are also in the race which might prolong Suarez first trophy with his new club Atletico Madrid.
