The Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced an exciting T20 series scheduled to take place in Dhaka on the 21st and 22nd of March this year. The series is being organized to mark the birth centenary of Sheikh Mujibur Rehman who is said to be the father of their nation. Star-studded players like Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, Jonny Bairstow, Rashid Khan, KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan have been included in the Asia XI vs World XI T20I series.

Virat Kohli is all set to Captain the Asian XI side subjected to the Indian Captain’s confirmation on his availability. The schedule has been adjusted to accommodate almost every player’s availability in the playing 11. The matches were supposed to be held on the 18th and 21st of March but because of South Africa’s tour of India the schedule is now shifted to the 21st and 22nd of March.
Along with Virat Kohli, KL Rahul is also available for 1 match only and his 2nd match’s availability is still subjected to confirmation. In a total of 6 players from India have been included in the Asia XI side including Dhawan, Shami, Pant & Kuldeep Yadav which says a lot about India’s dominance in the shortest format of international cricket. Players from Pakistan have been excluded because of the ongoing Pakistan T20 league that will end on 22nd March. Although rumours suggested otherwise, that because of India & Pakistan’s disturbing relations the BCCI had requested not to include the Pak players for the tournament. However, the former has been confirmed both by the Bangladesh Cricket Association & the PCB.
