The Indian Premier League 2019 auction that was hosted in Jaipur was the most successful one for Tamil Nadu’s Varun Chakravarthy! The uncapped Indian player received a bid of 8.4 Crore to join the Kings 11 Punjab, making him the most expensive player of the season. Known as the mystery spinner, Kings 11 did everything they could to make him join the team due to the very reason. He has played only one first-class game so far and had his base price set at only INR 20 Lakh.

Varun was following the auction pretty closely along with his family, and after receiving the massive bid, he now feels a great deal of responsibility to exhibit his best performance.

If you’ve been following Varun’s career, you’d know that he didn’t have an amazing start to his IPL career. The first over he bowled he went for 26 runs. It was Sunil Narine who punished his full-lengths. Although, he came back in the very match pretty well. He was given a third over by Ashwin in the death overs. He bowled economically and we got to see all his variations. He also managed to take a wicket along with that.

In the next game, Varun was replaced by Murugan Ashwin and he never found his way back into the team. But we have a reason to believe that a player like Varun will be able to take center stage very soon.
