96 Against Mumbai Indians (2019)
SRH’s lowest score in IPL history is their lone two-digit total against Mumbai Indians in the 2019 season, which takes the top rank on this list. Despite the low score, this game ended up shattering records. Batting first, Mumbai could only muster 136/7 in their 20 overs, mostly due to a late onslaught by Kieron Pollard. With Joseph capturing 6/12 in 3.4 overs, SRH was bowled out for 96 in just 17.4 overs, which continues to be the best bowling performance in IPL history.
113 against Mumbai Indians (2015)
The next two positions on this list of SRH’s lowest scores in IPL games are against Mumbai Indians in their home-field score of 113 in 2015. In the first 10 overs, SRH had lost half of their team for just 51 runs thanks to the exploits of Mumbai’s opening bowlers, Malinga and McClenaghan, who combined for five wickets. They eventually scraped to 113 before losing their final wicket off the final ball.
114 against Kings XI Punjab (2020)
The Sunrisers’ 3rd-lowest total came during a chase against Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings). After winning the toss, SRH chose to bowl first. Only 126/7 was the total the KXIP hitters could muster in their 20 overs. The SRH batting lineup was eventually dismissed for 114 runs in 19.5 overs after losing 10 wickets for just 58 runs. As a result, they ultimately suffered a 12-run defeat.
115/8 against Kolkata Knight Riders (2021)
This was the 4th-lowest score ever recorded by the SRH came against Kolkata Knight Riders in 2021. After deciding to bat first, the Sunrisers Hyderabad batsmen struggled to produce runs at a steady rate, as the Kolkata Knight Riders spinners grabbed wickets at regular intervals to restrict them to 115 for 8 in Dubai.
116 Against Delhi Capitals (2019)
Due to the 40s from Colin Munro and captain Shreyas Iyer, Delhi Capitals managed to register a respectable first-innings score of 155/7. The Sunrisers’ middle order utterly collapsed against Delhi Capitals as they lost 7 wickets for 15 runs and the game itself by 39 runs despite an opening stand of 72 between Bairstow and Warner in the opposition.
118/8 Against Rising Pune Supergiants (2016)
Another 118 against Rising Pune Supergiant in 2016 for the loss of eight wickets is the next lowest team total for SRH in IPL games. This did not turn out to be a winning total for SRH, who lost in a rain-shortened contest, unlike the previous one. The Supergiants were comfortable in front of the DLS target when it started to rain 11 overs into their innings, which helped them walk to victory.
118 Against Mumbai Indians (2018)
The 118 that SRH scored against Mumbai Indians in Mumbai a few seasons ago ranks fifth on this list of the lowest scores by SRH in IPL games. Given how poorly the SRH squad batted, Yusuf Pathan and Kane Williamson led the team to score with 29 each.
MI would have expected to win easily with a mere 119 to chase, but the SRH bowling attack had other plans. With the help of the cunning Rashid Khan, SRH skittles down the Mumbai Indians’ batting order for just 87 runs to secure a 31-run victory.
119/8 against Pune Warriors (2013)
SRH had the 8th-lowest score against Pune Warriors in 2013. SRH, after batting first, managed to put up a decent score of 119 to defend. Out of 11 batters, only four managed to reach double digits. In response, the Pune Warriors’ batters keeled over like a house of cards, with four batters going to the pavilion after scoring ducks. SRH won the game by 11 runs.
120/7 against Punjab Kings (2021)
SRH scored their 9th-lowest score ever at Sharjah Stadium in the 37th match of the IPL 2021 against Punjab Kings. It can be called the match of the season. After batting first, the Kings scored only 125 runs in 20 overs. SRH took the game lightly, and apart from Wriddhiman Saha and Jason Holder, nobody played a decent inning. Five batters scored below 10, and SRH was restricted to 120 for 7 wickets and lost the game by five runs.
121 Against Kings XI Punjab (2014)
Sunrisers Hyderabad’s lowest team score in IPL history is 121 runs against Punjab Kings. As they were dismissed for just 121 runs against Punjab Kings in 19.2 overs on April 22, 2014 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
Some of SRH’s lowest scores in IPL gives you a clear indication that they do not prioritize batting line up. They have always been a bowling team and have won two games out of the top 10’s SRH lowest scores in IPL history. That tells everything about their bowling line-up. They just need to find the balance, and they will be fighting for the silverware in the upcoming season.
