However, there have been times when the batting team lost the plot while chasing or simply failed to gain momentum and thus, we witnessed some shockers in IPL history. Chasing a small score of 131, the Royal Challengers team could not withstand the KKR bowling attack and were bowled out for 49 runs after playing just 9.4 overs at the Eden Gardens on 23rd April 2017. They scored runs at a rate of 6.71.
Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan Royals were bowled out for 58 runs when they set out to chase 133 runs posted by the Royal Challengers Bangalore team. They played 15.1 overs at Cape Town on 18th April 2009. They scored at a rate of 6.65 runs per over.
Delhi Daredevils
Delhi Daredevils fell prey to the Mumbai Indians bowling attack after they posted a score of 212 runs. They were bowled out for 66 runs after playing 13.4 overs at a run rate of 4.82. The match took place at Firoz Shah Kotla in Delhi.

Against the Kings XI Punjab, Delhi Daredevils were able to post a score of 67 runs only after playing 17.1 overs at a scoring rate of 3.90. The match took place at Dharmasala on 30th April 2017 and the Punjab team won the match by 10 wickets.
Kolkata Knight Riders
Mumbai Indians have been a constant hurdle for KKR and they were able to bowl the KKR team out after bowling 15.2 overs where the KKR batsmen scored 67 runs. The match took place at Wankhede on 16th May 2008 and the Mumbai Indians won the match convincingly.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
On April 23, 2022, the Royal Challengers team was bowled out for 68 runs against the Sunrisers team at the Brabourne stadium. They were able to score the runs in 16.1 overs scoring at a rate of 4.20 runs per over. Sunrisers won the match by 9 wickets.

Coming out to bat first against the Rising Pune Supergiants, the Punjab team was bowled out for 73 runs after playing for 15.5 overs at a run rate of 4.66. The match took place in Pune on 14th May 2017 and as such, remains on the list of lowest s in IPL.
Kochi Tuskers Kerala
In the list of lowest scores in IPL history, the obsolete Kochi franchise also makes the cut. Chasing a total of 129 runs marked by the Deccan Chargers, they were able to score only 74 runs in 16.3 overs at a run rate of 4.48. The match took place in Kochi on 27 April 2011.
