The multiple-time IPL champion, Kolkata Knight Riders haven’t always had a smooth sailing journey on their way to success. Even with the best batting line-ups they have yielded under pressure and failed to turn up for big moments. While they have chased some of the highest scorers with big hitters like Andre Russell and Patrick Cummins, KKR also have had terrible days on the pitch. 

KKR’s lowest score in IPL comprises the meager 67 runs that they had scored against the Mumbai Indians at their home ground of Wankhede in 2008. On a more extensive perusal of the top Kolkata Knight Riders lowest score in IPL history, it is visible that Mumbai Indians have been their nemesis as their head-to-head record against them is also quite poor. 

Top 10 KKR Lowest Scores in IPL

Mumbai Indians have always made life difficult for the KKR team and in the list of KKR lowest scores in IPL history, they appear five times so far. 

Mumbai Indians

67 is KKR’s lowest score in IPL history. This took place in the first season of the IPL on 16th May 2008. KKR was bowled out in 15.2 overs while they were scoring at a rate of 4.36 in Mumbai Indians’ home soil of the Wankhede. 

Royal Challengers Bangalore

84 runs is the 2nd-lowest score posted by KKR in their franchise history. This happened in Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi where the second half of the tournament was shifted due to covid. This took place on 21st October 2020 as KKR managed that small score after playing 20 overs and scored at a rate of 4.20.

 Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians also happen to feature in the list of KKR lowest scores in the IPL. KKR ended up scoring just 95 runs at St. George’s Park, Port Elizabeth on 27th April 2009 while trying to chase a score of 187 posted by the Mumbai team. They were bowled out after 15.2 overs and scored at a rate of 6.19. 

Deccan Chargers

Next on the list of KKR’s lowest score in Indian Premier League history is 101 runs that they had scored against Deccan Chargers on 19th April 2009 at Newlands, Cape Town. They were bowled out after 19.4 overs and scored at a rate of 5.13

Lucknow Super Giants

101 runs against the Rising Pune Super Giants are also on the list of their lowest scores. This match took place at the MCA stadium, in Pune on 7th May 2022. The KKR team was chasing a score of 176 but was bowled out in 14.3 overs when they were scoring at a rate of 6.96.

Mumbai Indians

KKR again capitulated against the MI bowlers and were just able to score 105 runs after playing 18.2 overs with a run rate of 5.72 while chasing a score of 170. The match took place at the Wankhede stadium on 7th May 2013. 

Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians have been a constant thorn for KKR and this time, they were able to score just 107 runs at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on 19th May 2017. MI comfortably won the game by 6 wickets. 

Delhi Daredevils

Delhi Daredevils feature in the list of KKR’s lowest score in IPL. They were able to score just 108 runs and lost 7 wickets in the process. They were chasing a target of 160 runs and scored at a run rate of 5.40 at Centurion on October 13, 2012. 

Chennai Super Kings

KKR managed to score just 108 runs while losing 9 wickets in the process at Chepauk, Chennai on 9th April 2019, and scored at a rate of 5.40. 

Mumbai Indians

They faltered against Mumbai Indians again and were bowled out for 108 runs after playing 18.1 overs and scoring at a rate of 5.94 at Eden Gardens Kolkata, their home ground. This match took place on 9th May 2018 which KKR lost while trying to chase a massive total of 210.
