246/5 against Rajasthan Royals (2010)

CSK recorded its highest IPL score against Rajasthan Royals in Chennai during the 2010 season. After deciding to bat, MS Dhoni’s team got off to a strong 65-run opening stand between Murali Vijay and Matthew Hayden. In the end, CSK scored a total of 246 runs thanks to a hard knock of 64 runs by Albie Morkel. RR’s batsmen put up a spectacular performance, but CSK won by a score of 23 runs.

240/5 against Punjab Kings (2008)

CSK scored its second-highest IPL score in IPL against Punjab Kings (previously known as Kings XI Punjab) in the first season of the competition. In a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2013, CSK scored their 3rd-highest IPL score in IPL history. Michael Hussey and Murli Vijay of CSK, who batted first, contributed by scoring 67 and 29 runs, respectively. Suresh Raina, who batted at No. 3, gave his team’s innings a big lift, blasting a brutal, undefeated 99 runs that enabled his side to tally 223 runs on the scoreboard. Then, CSK’s bowlers held the opposition to 146 runs, helping CSK to a 77-run victory.

222/5 against Delhi Capitals (2012)

CSK had the 4th-highest score in the 2012 IPL in Qualifier 1 at Chennai against Delhi Capitals (formerly known as the Delhi Daredevils). Murli Vijay, who batted first, single-handedly stole the show by smashing a century to put his team in an ideal situation. In the end, Dwayne Bravo‘s late appearance helped the MS Dhoni-led team score a whopping 222 runs. The “Men in Yellow” won the game by 86 runs after batting out the opposition for 136 runs.

220/3 against Kolkata Knight Riders (2021)

It was a Faf Du Plessis show at Wankhede for CSK. After scoring 220/3 against Kolkata Knight Riders and then dismissing five batters for KKR in the Powerplay, MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) club appeared to be headed for an easy victory. However, KKR came close to winning as Andre Russell and Pat Cummins staged a spectacular counterattack. Even so, CSK won the game by 18 runs with five deliveries remaining, thanks to some strong bowling in the last overs.

218/4 against Mumbai Indians (2021)

Kieron Pollard’s spectacular takedown stunned the Chennai Super Kings in 2021. His incredible 87 not out in 34 balls snapped the Chennai Super Kings’ five-game winning streak. Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock gave Mumbai a start of 71 in 7.4 overs while chasing 219 runs. After that, Pollard was the only player who scored an undefeated 87 off 34 deliveries. 216/4 against Royal Challengers Bangalore (2022)

CSK’s 7th highest score in IPL came against Royal Challengers Bangalore at DY Patil stadium. Shivam Dube and Robin Uthappa completely destroyed RCB, taking 156 off the final 10 overs and converting a lackluster start into a commanding total of 216 to secure their first victory in five IPL games. RCB only managed to score 193/9 in 20 overs.

211/4 against Delhi Capitals (2018)

In hindsight, CSK always has the upper hand against Delhi Capitals. 2018 marked CSK’s return to the tournament following the match-fixing incident. Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson of CSK, put on a 102-run opening stand to set the tone for their team. With the support of Shane Watson‘s 78 runs and MS Dhoni’s ferocious 52 runs to close the innings, his team was able to score a total of 211 runs. Although DC came close to reaching the mark, CSK maintained its composure to win the game by 13 runs.

210/7 against Lucknow Supergiants (2022)

CSK, after batting first against Lucknow Supergiants set up a target of 211 to chase. In response, Evin Lewis, scored his half-century in the IPL 2022’s quickest time ever (only 23 deliveries), helping the Lucknow Super Giants defeat Chennai Super Kings by six wickets at the Brabourne stadium. Lewis, who helped Lucknow reach 211/4 in 19.3 overs, smashed 25 runs off the spinner Shivam Dube’s penultimate over.

209/4 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (2015)

CSK scored their 10th-highest total in IPL against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Brendon McCullum put on a show, scoring 100 off 56 balls, hitting nine sixes, and pushing the total to 209. In response, SRH only managed to score 164 in 20 overs, thanks to Warner, who scored 54.
