The last match is merely a formality now. South Africa has already won the series, and they would be looking for a clean sweep, While Zimbabwe will be looking to get some saving grace before the T20s. The previous match raised a lot of questions regarding several issues. Most prominent of them was the batting of South Africa and the poor conditions of these lesser used grounds. These pitches used to be batting friendly grounds at their peak but now everyone s struggling to get some runs. For Zimbabwe, there will be a lot to learn from this series as well. They don’t have a lot of options, but they will have to work out the best out of whatever they have. Let’s take a look at the probable playing 11 for this match.

Head-to-Head:

Overall Matches – 40
South Africa- 37
Zimbabwe- 2

Boland Park, Paarl

In the last match, the debacle that happened makes it even pointless to comment on the pitch. This is the result of the ignorance of these grounds. Boland Park has seen both raining sixes and a pretty low scoring match. It has always favoured Batsmen however it will be interesting to see what happens.

South Africa

In the last two matches, one thing has become clear that it is high time for South Africa to find a balance in their batting order. No one is clear about their role the players on offense are playing defense and vice versa. It would not have been a problem if they would have done it with ease but on the contrary, everyone is struggling. A batting line-up which looks impressive on paper is backfiring in every match, and we are now missing the good old ABD days. The bowling is as good as it can get, so there is nothing to worry about in that department. They need to figure out the batting before its too late for the 2019 world cup.

Zimbabwe

I still have a vivid memory of Flower brothers and Heath Streak acting as pillars for Zimbabwe cricket and taking them home so many times. There are a few playing in the current team as well in Masakadza, Taylor, Solomon Mire and Chigumbura who can take that place. Zimbabwe cricket has already suffered due to heavy politics and the degrading conditions of cricket in the country. Someone will have to take centre stage and build it back up. They are struggling in every department, and it is high time someone took notice of this. It is not about a country or team it is about Cricket.
