South Africa against the West Indies: Practically the last chance for the Proteas to still survive in the competition right now. It’s a do or die encounter and they would be looking to go all in against an in-form West Indian squad. If they have class & aggression, Windies have the depth & their iconic players in the right shape for the big game.
In the head to head stats against each other in total of 6 encounters it’s South Africa that have won 4 and Windies have managed to sneak only 2.
Du Plessis & Dussen Dependant

A lot will depend on these two as has been since the starting of the tournament. Apart from Du Plessis & van der Dussen, none of the South African batsmen have been able to use their fire power to good use. JP Duminy, Miller have not been able to contribute along with Quinton De Kock who hasn’t been able to continue his IPL form.
Rabada’s Struggles

Another player who had a wonderful IPL & hasn’t backed his bowling since is Kagiso Rabada. The South African along with other pacers in the team has picked only 4 wickets thus far which has clearly made opponents score big on the board. The team lacks a lot of grip in their bowling and has been a major concern. With players like Hope, Gayle & Hetmyer in the WI team, they’ll need to put their hand up quickly.

Shai Hope has been in top class form in the past year and this will be a major concern for Du Plessis and his men. He has shown great grit in the tournament so far as well even in the run chase in the previous game against Australia where the Windies fell short of 15 runs but derailed the Aussie balance big time
Russell losing a Muscle?

Andre Russell’s fitness still a major concern for Windies as is for South Africa’s Hashim Amla. They have already lost Dayle Steyn due to fitness issues & the former missed the gig against Bangladesh. Andre Russell has been good with the ball so far but not much with the bat as of now. Let’s hope he gets in good shape to give South Africa a run for their money.
May the best team win!
