The Indian T20 season has seen so many champs through all these years. Fantasy cricket extravaganza has always been best friends with the Indian T20 season where we see all fantasy cricket enthusiasts jumping in to choose their playing 11. Well, this year because of the pandemic we might not have been able to feel the adrenaline of the Indian T20 season but BalleBaazi had us sorted with the BalleBaazi Fantasy League. The season finale had been an adrenaline rush last night and we finally have a champ in place:
The Mumbai Heroes! So how did they win it?
Let’s take you through the scorecard:
Steady Start but Shaky Middle Order
At the start of the innings, Mumbai started with great intent with Rohit & Chriss Lynn playing the openers’ part really well making 11(7) & 20 off just 9 deliveries. After Lynn & Rohit got out, Ishan Kishan & Suryakumar Yadav tried to steady the ship but they did so at a very poor strike rate. Even after their poor show, Pandya could not help accelerate proceedings as he struggled to middle the ball and departed for 30 in 29 deliveries
Pollard & Krunal Crush Chennai
Keiron Pollard with all the experience that he carries in the format came to the rescue and made a firing 53 in just 34 balls sending the ball out of the orbit a number of times. Playing second fiddle, Krunal did a brilliant job making 18 off just 8 balls. Mumbai reached a strong total of 180 runs after losing 5 wickets as they took Lungi Ngidi on as he gave away runs at 13.50 economy along with Raina giving 20 in just 2 overs with both going wicket-less
Chennai’s Reply: Just Not Good Enough!
Faf du Plessis & Shane Watson began the chase and Chennai lost their first wicket very early with the South African dismissed for just 2. Suresh Raina came in & changed the course of the game completely with his fiery strokes all along the ground. Sadly, he could not get the required support from his teammates apart from Murali Vijay who after a good start was dismissed by Krunal Pandya. Chennai cruised very close to victory when Raina hit consecutive boundaries to a Lasith Malinga over but those were just not good enough as they kept on losing wickets and when 4 were required off the last ball, Raina could only manage a single.
Clinical Fantasy Cricket Performance by Mumbai
On a batting wicket, it was tough for the likes of Trent Boult and Malinga to stay low-key but the good thing about the Mumbai attack was they kept on taking wickets apart from Chahar who went wicket-less. Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers as he picked one scalp along with an attractive economy of 7.25. In the end, Raina might have been chosen as Player of the Match but it was definitely Mumbai Heroes winning the BalleBaazi Fantasy League over the Chennai Challengers.
