The Rajasthan Royals have played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) since its inaugural season in 2008. The team was captained by Shane Warne and went on to win the championship that year and mark history.

The  team is based in the city of Jaipur, in the state of Rajasthan, India. The Rajasthan Royals were banned from the IPL for two seasons in 2016 and 2017 due to their involvement in a betting scandal.

226/6 against Punjab Kings (2020)

RR’s highest score in IPL came against Punjab Kings at Sharjah. In one of the most exciting games in IPL history. Rajasthan Royals defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) with a thrilling four-wicket victory. Earlier, PBKS batted brilliantly, scoring 223-2 from their 20 overs, with Mayank Agarwal scoring 106. Rajasthan needed 21 from the remaining 12 balls. Despite this, Archer stepped up to the plate in remarkable fashion, starting his inning by launching consecutive sixes off Shami to put the Royals in a position to win.

223/5 against Chennai Super Kings (2010)

After scoring a massive 246/5, CSK and virtually every IPL fan may have expected a one-sided match, but the Royals took a completely different turn. They chased the total with all of their hearts, giving CSK a fight for their money, but ultimately fell short by 23 runs. Naman Ojha (94) and Watson (60) batted valiantly for the Royals but simply gave up shortly before the finish line. In the end, the Royals scored 223/5 in that game.

222/2 against Delhi Capitals (2022)

3rd in the list of RR highest scores in IPL is their match against DC. In one of their IPL encounters against Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals posted an impressive 222 for only 2. The RR’s top scorer was the opener, Jos Buttler, who maintained his thrilling, dangerous form, scoring a brilliant 116 off only 65 balls. Devdutt Padikkal and captain Sanju Samson added 54 and 46, respectively. DC also managed to score 207 runs but eventually lost the game to the Royals by 15 runs.

220/3 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (2021)

Jos Buttler, with 11 fours and 8 sixes in his 64-ball 124, scored his first T20 century against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Delhi in 2021. As a result, RR was able to score 220 for 3 runs, with Buttler scoring his final 74 runs in just 25 balls. Eventually, SRH lost the game by 55 runs.

217/7 against Deccan Chargers (2008)

RR’s 217/7 against Deccan Chargers comes 5th in the list of RR highest scores in IPL. The Royals surprised the majority of the IPL clubs by chasing down a 214-run total. The Royals scored 217/7 with one ball left to bat, winning the match by three wickets. Graeme Smith, who hit a reasonable 71 off 45 balls, spearheaded the massive chase. However, Yousuf Pathan’s 28-ball 61 runs proved to be the game-changer.

217/4 against Royal Challengers Bangalore (2018)

Sanju Samson’s 92 runs off 45 balls helped the Royals reach 217/4 against Royal Challengers Bangalore. The Royals destroyed the RCB bowlers with the help of 14 fours and 14 sixes. RCB’s chase of 217 was unsuccessful, as they only managed to score 198/6 in their 20 overs.

217/7 against Punjab Kings (2021)

RR 217/7 against Punjab Kings is 7th among the top ten RR highest scores in IPL history. Sanju Samson almost single-handedly defeated their opposition in their maiden match with a spectacular century, but he holed out to deep cover with one out remaining when they needed five runs to win. Samson reduced the target from a difficult 222 to 21 off 12 and then 13 off 6.

217/5 against Kolkata Knight Riders (2022)

A hat-trick from Yuzvendra Chahal gives the Rajasthan Royals a close victory against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Brabourne Stadium. Jos Buttler scored his second season-high hundred. Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmyer provided him with strong assistance. KKR scored 107 runs in only 8.5 overs, with Shreyas Iyer and Aaron Finch spearheading the charge. However, Yuzvendra Chahal won the match for the team with a 5-wicket haul.

216/7 against Chennai Super Kings (2020)

In the list of RR highest scores in IPL, 216 for 7 against Chennai Super Kings at Sharjah ranked in 9th place. 33 sixes were struck in all, which tied the IPL record for the most sixes in a game. With a combined total of 17 sixes, Sanju Samson, Steven Smith, and Jofra Archer outhit the Chennai Super Kings. CSK managed to score 200 runs and lost the game by 16 runs.

211/5 against Chennai Super Kings (2008)

With their openers hitting with everything they could, RR recorded 211/5 in their opening innings against Chennai Super Kings. In order to set up a massive score against the CSK bowlers, Graeme Smith (91 off 51), Swapnil Asnodkar (41 off 27), and Kamran Akmal (53* off 28) unleashed their full arsenal. CSK batted brilliantly to reach 201/7, but they lost the match by 10 runs.

Overall, the Rajasthan Royals have had a mixed record in the IPL, with one championship win in 2008 and only four playoff appearances in their 13 seasons. They have failed to make it to the playoffs since 2018 and finished at the bottom of the table in the 2020 edition of the tournament. While they have been successful in the past, the team has struggled in recent years and will need to work hard to regain their winning form.
