After a great show of grit and determination in the Sydney Test, India was able to save a match that had already been lost on Day 4 of the test match. Australia vs India this year has been a series of amazing cricket, banter (finally), controversies and now unfortunately some bruises and injuries have also been added to the list. Bruised But Playing

Apart from the above list, Ravichandran Ashwin faced a back strain during the 3rd test even before he scored a heroic 39 not out. Mayank Aggarwal has an injured thumb and Rishabh Pant, who finally came out to play and almost won it for India, is also not at his fittest best. What is debatable now is the playing XI with which India will come out in the final Test at the Gabba, Brisbane.

India needs to look out for a combination of bowlers and batsmen that will suit the pitch and conditions of Brisbane. Siraj, Saini will be leading the bowling attack which is funny because all the experience they have is 1 or 2 test matches. All eyes on Rohit Sharma & Ajnkya Rahane. Ashwin is fit enough to play but if his back doesn’t allow him to stretch, India might be looking at Kuldeep Yadav. What India also has is a silver lining of Natarajan’s & Washington Sundar’s debut and even Shardul Thakur’s services can be taken into consideration.

Unprecedented Result v/s Comprehensive Defeat

The cricket pundits have already predicted that this Indian side will be worse than an India-A side without King Kohli, Bumrah, Jadeja, Ishant, Umesh, and now Vihari. ‘If the Aussies do not win this one comprehensively, it will be a shame on their cricket history’; is the kind of pressure Tim Paine will be under. On the other hand, if India pull off a heist and win this one, the victory will be unprecedented and will be remembered forever
